TO: Board Members and Friends of the Cohos Trail
The first formal Cohos Trail Association board of directors meeting will
be held on Saturday evening at 7:15 pm at the Colonel Town House on
High Street in Lancaster. It is the fine community facility for the town
of Lancaster. We will meet in the dining room. Use the front door.
I hope to keep the meeting to 2 hours. There will be some boiler plate
and organizational materials to address, of course, but there should be
plenty of interesting and fun things to discuss and vote on, as well.
We have a $5,547 grant to work with and may have much more, so we'll
need to earmark the funds for projects and vote on them. We'll have a
review of where the trail stands now, what work has been done, what work
needs to be done, and who out there is interested in lending a hand.
Then there will be a discussion session about the future development or
non-development of the trail: the northern route, overnight hostels
concepts, the observation tower idea, lean-to ideas, an office, a web
site, etc.
And there will be a discussion about funding, promotion ideas, grants,
gifts and the like.
Lots to do. Lots to do. I hope you can attend this first meeting of the
board of directors. Remember, the board will meet four times a year, and
members are required to attend at least two meetings.
A NOTE TO PONDER: I was searching the web for a timber framers guild
site, found one and wrote a note asking for information, particularly in
regard to trail structures. I got a reply the next day. The reply
started with these words: "Hey, aren't you the guy I use to play
softball with?" That from the executive director of the American Timber
Framers Guild. Turns out I did play softball with him for four years.
That's how everything has been going when it comes to The Cohos Trail.
This was meant to be, I guess.
See you soon.
Kim
